A Few Reviews

If youve yet to see Go Like Hell live, then its time you get your shit together, because you are missing out on one of Seattles more entertaining live bands. The band looks like the Addams Family of punk rock with a hotter, younger version of Wendy O. Williams up front, a guy with dreadlocks to his knees, two rockabilly greasers, and a dude with a shaved head whos fond of wearing dresses. Theyve got the driving rock guitars of bands like Nashville Pussy and Zeke, double-dipped in a vat of 80s punk. Go Like Hells new Hell Bent Rock n Roll CD packs almost as much punch as their live show-it just doesnt let up. For fans of fast rock n roll, its definitely worth your hard earned cash. -Dan Halligan (Tablet issue#94)

Flashback to the Hideaway-summer, 2004-Go Like Hells Alexi Void looks like a sexed-out mohawked hell-cat as she prowls the stage offering her feline flesh to the very drunk, mostly male crowd. Does this energy transfer on to their new CD, though? The answer is a resounding YES! Hell Bent R&R sounds like a molatov cocktail of Motorhead and the Ramones meets Venus and the Razorblades and the Plasmatics.
Buttermilk has done a bang-up job on the packaging. On the cover Void stands atop an old smashed up van in an auto graveyard while the lads hang about. Track one finds the sneering pout of Alexi in fine punk form and sets the precedent for what follows. Standouts include Go Like Hell and the Alice Cooperesque Hotter Than Love on which Void and guitarist Elvis Christ share a vocal duet. Fill of sexual innuendo, the track also features some nice Stooges-like lead guitar. The CD closes with a punk version of G.B. Greaves Take a Letter Maria.
The 13 tracks are a nice boot in the ass to get down and check out their live show. -Ted Axe (Seattle Sinner, Feb/05)
